I think there a…

I think there are times when a song can be a spiritual experience – just making music, in general, is pretty much that.
~Patty Griffin

I spent 3 hours tonight listening to Patty Griffin, soaking in her folky, bluegrass, gospel soul cartoon sketch of bluegrass instrumentsmusic; belting out notes I’ve not hit in months; my body vibrating and jiving, reveling in joy.

The days of Wesleyan bluegrass acapella, washboard band and musical theater are now ten+ years behind me. Put my artsy, musical self on the backburner to work and school and work and school and work and school. And now, yearning, notes pushing through rusty vocal chords as the daffodils push up through the defrosting ground. I am ready. I am ready to sing.
